There’s no such thing as a free lunch and you get what you pay for. Check this stuff out. It takes only seconds to download.

BUT… READ ME FIRST: WARNING: These are *.exe files. Executables don’t have to have a virus to do something harmful to your system. Some of them just do it because that’s what they’re programmed to do. So… Try them out on someone else’s computer first, and never at work.

Read the descriptions before double-clicking on your download. You might find something more useful than a dancing chicken – like how to exit the program.

Descriptions in bold type are some of my personal favorites.

Viruses???? I ain’t picky about my sources, so I KNOW you will check for viruses. If you get a fun executable from somewhere else, send it to me and I’ll see if improves my system performance. That being said, I recommend starting with the first one in the list.

	fakefmt.exe	No escape. Ctrl-Alt-Del and Esc do not work. Harmless (I think). But did you read the Warning?
	Rt.exe	Rats run across your screen. Shoot one with a rubber dart. Esc will exit, but it’s a very short program.
	wordpad.exe	Types not what you type, but what you meant to type.
	WhtXmas.exe	Christmas – a White Christmas. Short movie with sound. One of my all-time favorites. Esc to exit.
	Majick Card Trick.exe	Removes the card you select in your mind. Works every time!
	lightswitch.exe	Light switch for the desktop. Flip it, and everything’s in the dark. Flip it again, and there’s light. Right click on the switch to exit.
	Matchup.exe	From Walt Disney’s "Lady and the Tramp". The hardest level adds a new twist to a classic game. Esc to exit.
	brickout.exe	Break the bricks using ping pong. If you’re bored.
	confuse.exe	Match game. Size varies from 4X4 to 8X8. Good game.
	Coke Cup Holder.exe	Free gift and immediate delivery.
	Slippery Mouse.exe	Rates high for being annoying. Fastest way to exit is Ctrl-Alt-Del to end task. Or move very slowly….
	weekend_countdown.exe	Just what it says.
	thimble.exe	It’s the shell game. But it uses thimbles instead.
	thebom.exe	Plays like Wheel of Fortune. Select the letters to make the word. Esc to exit.
	runit2.exe	It has a "cancel" button, but Ctr-Alt-Del to end task will exit.
	Sheep.exe	Desktop buddies. Ctrl-Alt-Del to end task (Screen Mate) will exit.
	Rudolph.exe	Christmas. Short movie. Esc to exit.
	roulette.exe	Works, but I get an error when closing. The game's too small.
	waterdro.exe	From the days of 8-character file names. Neat effect. Esc to exit.
	whack.exe	Whack the popup critters. Good game.
	snowman2be.exe	Decorate the snowman.
	slidepuzzle.exe	WARNING: I could not exit the program except by completing the puzzle. Don’t try this unless you have a few minutes. Makes a slide puzzle of your desktop. Good game, except that you can’t close.
	pool.exe	Billiards.
	Urinal.exe	What would YOU do? I’ll bet you don’t pass the test on the first try.
	Odometer.exe	How far does your mouse travel in a day?
	optical.exe	Stare at the screen for thirty seconds. Then look at your hand. Neat optical effect.
	Same.exe	Good game, but could have better graphics. Plays like Pogos’s Poppit.
	monsucks.exe	WARNING: Not kid friendly. Uses Mickey Mouse and an obscene gesture. Otherwise, a great file.
	tetrisb1.exe	Tetris game.
	snowmoun.exe	IPIX image. Look in any direction.
	giraffe.exe	IPIX image. Look in any direction.
	Flipped.exe	Just turn your monitor upside down…
	facetoon.exe	Similar to Mr. Potato Head.
	paintem.exe	Arts and crafts and M&Ms candy. This might not work with other programs running.
	Buttons.exe	Want buttons? The quick way out is Ctrl-Alt-Del to end task. I don’t know what happens if you actually complete the "game".
	Desktop Destruction.exe	Right click to choose your weapons. Esc to exit.
	gun.exe	Same as above. But you only have one weapon. Esc to exit.
	moont32.zip	Is the moon out tonight, and is it full? Great tool for night time excursions. I use it to plan night time photography, hiking, camping, etc. I added a document that illustrates the moon phases and provides a link for moonrise and moonset times for your location. Extract zip file to a folder.
	moon.exe	Pretty much same as above, but this one is a ready-to-use executable file.
	iq.exe	I can see how some people might have difficulty with this one.
	Barrow.exe	Armed with bow and arrow, shoot the balloons.
	ChickenDance.exe	Dancing chicken.
	Bees.exe	Shoot the bees with bug spray as they drop their stingers.
	Flyfree.exe	Annoying fly on the desktop. Ctrl-Alt-Del to end task.
	checkers.exe	Checkers.
	kungfu.exe	Kung Fu. Use the arrow keys. This might not work so good with other stuff running.
	cheatsol.exe	Solitaire that allows cheating. Just like the real thing.
